I am a Library Media Specialist in a Detroit Public Schools high school.  I earned a Masters of Art in Teaching (MAT) and a Masters in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.  I am a member of a few library, education, and technology organizations such as the Michigan Association for Media in Education (MAME), Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL), American Library Association (ALA), BCALA, Black Caucus of the American Library Association, International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD).

I am an avid reader and a lifelong learner.  Although I read predominantly African, African American, Caribbean adult, young adult and children’s literature and nonfiction, I do read education and other books, too.  In my “spare” time, I sew clothes, knit, and make quilts.  For exercise, I workout in a gym, play wallyball and skate in an indoor roller rink.

My blog will post information on multicultural books and authors, resources, lessons, and activities.
